Golf Cart Rentals on Topsail Island
A golf cart is a fun way to get to the beach access, the pier or ice cream without moving the car. On Topsail, rental carts are street-legal low-speed vehicles. Several companies deliver them to your rental; Revel 42’s daily rentals are picked up at its Surf City store.
Before you book, check two things: that your rental and its community allow golf carts, and, for an electric cart, that there’s a suitable outlet where it will park overnight.

How to choose
Gas or electric?
Electric carts are quiet but need overnight charging: Revel 42 requires a standard outlet on a dedicated circuit within six feet of where the cart parks, with no extension cords. Gas carts skip the charging question; Low Tide rents both.
Daily or weekly?
In summer, Elite rents only by the week, Saturday to Saturday. Revel 42 delivers weekly rentals and makes daily renters pick up at the store. Low Tide books by date range and delivers same-day rentals in the evening.
Driver age
Every driver needs a valid license under state law, but companies set higher minimums: Revel 42 requires drivers 25 and older, and Elite’s agreement sets its own minimum. Check before you book.
Before you book
Rental golf carts on public roads are street-legal low-speed vehicles. They must be registered and insured, every driver needs a valid driver’s license, and they may only travel on roads posted 35 mph or less, crossing faster roads at intersections. In Topsail Beach, carts can’t drive along North or South Anderson Boulevard except to cross it or within the 25 mph business district. Can kids drive a golf cart on Topsail?
No. On public roads every driver needs a valid driver’s license.
Can I drive a golf cart on the beach?
Plan on no. Rental terms prohibit it; Revel 42’s terms, for example, say carts may not be driven on the beach. Check your rental company’s agreement and the town’s beach rules.
Can golf carts go on the main roads?
Only roads posted 35 mph or less, crossing faster roads at intersections. In Topsail Beach, carts can’t travel along Anderson Boulevard except to cross or within the business district.
