Villas Dr. 856 - Uncork and Unwind

House was perfect for big group. Cleaning could have been better before arrival. With 9 bedrooms, you’d think there would be more space for parking. We were constantly moving cars. On the plus side, it’s a great location. Beds were all made on arrival. Kitchen well stocked. We’ve booked for next year already.

My family had a pleasant stay at this beachfront duplex. The location was perfect for visiting the pier and very convenient to local restaurants and shopping. We absolutely loved having easy, direct access to the beach right from our back porch. Despite all of the surrounding homes being occupied on the busy week we visited, the home was very quiet and felt private. […] The downside: some of the mattresses felt worn/ in need of replacing, and some areas needed a deeper cleaning. Overall, it is a good property in a great location!

We love N Topsail and have stayed in this house for several years in a row. There were more maintenance issues this year than normal which required almost daily calls - broken chair and bunkbed, faulty smoke alarm waking us up - but maintenance was usually prompt. We were an hour late getting into the house because the housekeeper could not get in with key or elevator. We will book this home again because of location and hope that repairs will be minimal during our stay. […]

The house was clean and we enjoyed our stay. Our only complaint is that the dishwasher was broken for most of our stay.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The kitchen is spacious and well-appointed, including an air fryer, blender and both drip coffee maker and Keurig. There is a large ice maker that was really nice to have. There is also a beverage cooler, but we were unable to figure out how to get it to work. Elevator was great, especially for hauling up luggage and groceries. Had a minor issue with the elevator upon arrival, but maintenance arrived to fix it within a few hours. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Good water pressure in showers, and plenty of hot water with 9 people showering daily. Washer and dryer both work great. Hot tub and pool were both really nice to have access to. Beautiful stretch of beach and not too busy despite the nearby public beach access. Quick drive to Snead’s Ferry for groceries and necessities.

The condo was very close to the beach which made it easy to get back and forth. The condo was spacious and gave us enough rooms for our family. The pool area was clean and it was also nice to have that option.

[…] It was easy and fast thanks to the texted instructions, which I appreciated not having to go back to the app. The location is beautiful, had ample parking, the kitchen had all the tools you needed to make dinner (and more) if you didn’t want to eat out. We specifically appreciated the multiple drip coffee machines and Keurig. I especially appreciated the brand new sponge and mini dish soap pack, as well as freshly serviced towels. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms as well as areas to sit. There were a couple of things I would recommend the owner […] While the place was spotless as far as clutter, having been vacuumed and surfaces wiped down, there were a few things you could tell hadn’t been serviced in a while. Overall our stay was great and we had an amazing time. I would stay here again.

The property featured a fully functional and well-equipped kitchen with two sinks and two dishwashers—no need to bring anything extra. It was very clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. Unlike many other places, it offered more queen and king beds instead of being packed with bunk beds, which made for a much more comfortable stay. it’s a nice house with a lot of room but there’s a lot of mold all over the house. I think almost every room had mold in it.

This was a very nice home with ample space and convenient room setup. The rooms were very clean and it was a pleasant surprise to find beds made and towels prepared for each room as well as toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner in each bathroom.

We had an amazing stay at this beach house for a large family reunion! The home was spacious, very clean, and perfect for a big group. The kitchen was well-stocked with cookware (large pots, crockpot, pans, etc.), which made meal prep easy. Just note that basics like spices, ziplocks, foil are not provide, so bring your own. You only get one roll of paper towels, one trash bag in each garbage, one extra dishwasher pod so bring some additional. The beds were comfortable with nice clean linens, and there were plenty of bath towels. I’d recommend bringing your own beach towels as those are not provided. There were no beach accessories (chairs, umbrellas, or toys), so plan to bring those too. Bathrooms had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, but no hand soap—another good thing to pack. You’ll also need laundry soap and dryers sheets. […] […] None of these are complaints—just helpful tips for future guests. We loved the house so much, it was an unforgettable vacation, we are already planning a return trip!

Plenty of beds for our large mostly adult group. We have rented this home for 6 years and will rent again . Unfortunately, the ice maker has only been in working order once. The stove top eyes have some issues. So does the top oven unit. The cost of the unit went up 5,000 dollars for 2026. For this price the home should be perfect. The cleaning service inside this year was great, unfortunately we have to request every year that the hot tub be cleaned. Chemicals are not enough, it should be drained and cleaned between rentals to get rid of the sand.

House has nice setup for large group with comfortable furniture, beds, kitchen supplies, outdoor shower. More hooks would be ideal for hanging wet towels, and bathing suits. Definitely needs a grill. Beach chairs would have been helpful. Love the close access to the beach.

Hot tub was great, having the community pool so close was great.

The home is difficult to get into upon initial arrival. We had issues with cockroaches during our stay... we had 5 inside the home that were killed and disposed of during our 1 week stay. Many of the doors do not align properly so the locks don't work or the wind will blow it open. The living room smelled like moldy feet. The light switches and TV remotes were way to complicated. Overall we were not pleased with this property […] We did reach out to customer service and were met with a response that didn't take our request seriously. On a positive note, the house is in a nice location and very close to the beach. The pool was also nice.

When we arrived, the property was not prepared for our arrival (none of the beds were made, patio was a mess from all the bird droppings, and no hand soap was provided in any of the bathrooms. They were very stingy with the supplies left: no extra toilet paper, no laundry detergent, no dishwasher pods/detergent. Hot tub was broken on arrival and someone came out several days later to fix. It was very old - display didn’t work, all the head rests were broken off, and the cover was falling apart. Lastly, there was no key/code on any of the main doors. You would have to lock them from the inside then take the elevator that smells of mold down to the ground level and lock that door from the outside. More of a pain than it should be to lock up. Not a lot of pans provided, but if you need a giant pot you’re in luck, there’s about 10 of them.

We loved staying in Island Escape. The large open kitchen and living room are amazing. The kitchen was equipped with everything we could need. Beautiful views from every window. Love the access to a pool and a hot tub right outside your window. We will definitely be back!

The mattresses was amazing. Having the beds made on arrival was so appreciated! The home is one of the best layed out homes we've stayed in. It has accommodations for any combination of people you could imagine. I love to cook and the kitchen was very well equipped! Plenty of pots/pans/skillets to cook anything you can imagine. Plenty of plates/bowls/glasses/silverware to serve everyone in the house! The two dishwashers make clean-up a breeze! If you like to cook I do suggest bringing your own Knife! Although there are plenty of them there people put them in the dishwasher and they are dull. I always take my own knives though, so nothing not expected. The location of the home is wonderful. The views are amazing! I highly recommend this home for large groups!

The view was excellent. The Oceanside experience was worth it. However, there was several issues with the house. On the third floor there was black mold coming out of the wall outlets and on the ceiling of the shower. The upstairs fridge did not work the entire week we spent there. There was also mold on the first floor shower curtain. A leaky air vent on the second floor bedroom. Although, the house house came equipped with plenty of cooking utensils, coffee makers, etc. great view but some major issues needs to be worked on.

This is a great house for a large group. The bedrooms are very nice, and the kitchen space is exceptional. The beach location is one of the best on the island. Highly recommend!

I know this couldn’t be planned, but arrived to a loggerhead nest on the lower dunes of property! Next morning another turtle nest on the walkway next door. We are big turtle fans, so very exciting! We had wonderful meals, great sleep, lots of competitive games. And memories to add to our cache of Topsail Island yearly vacations!!!!

Truly enjoyed the hot tub, and the outside shower was very handy to keep the kids sand free before they went in the house, I will say you might rethink your cleaning crew, as there was a lot of dirty things in this home. The potholders had lots of food on them not stains food. Most of the shower liners have a good 2 inches of mildew on them. We saw several roaches, and a lot of the ceiling fans did not work. One of the smoke detectors in the upstairs bedroom was beeping the last night we stayed there. It was too high up for us to try to fix it. We did a lot of pre-cleaning the first day to make it acceptable. For the price we pay for cleaning we should not have had to do that. But all in all, we made the best of the week and had a wonderful time.

Nothing. I have stage 4 cancer and had back surgery and we specifically rented this house for the elevator that did not work the entire time we were there. There was blood and urine on the beds. Black mold on the shower curtains and vents […]

This is the second year our family has stayed in this beach house. The number of bedrooms and bathrooms is perfect for our extended family. We were impressed with the fact that this year the beds were made and soap, shampoo, and toilet paper was provided (these amenities were not provided in the past)! We enjoyed our week's stay, however the pool that was advertised was not available and the elevator that was advertised was not…2027 tokens truncated…verage cooler, but we were unable to figure out how to get it to work. Dear homeowners of Uncork and Unwind as well as guests;

Your home is absolutely lovely, the location is incredible, the view up and down the beach is stunning. […] […] Problem #1 - We arrived to learn the elevator for the home was out of service and had been for at least a week […] . Were we surprised, you bet. We had not been told in advance. Thank goodness we did not have any handicapped or persons unable to handle two flights of stairs. The keyless entry for the home was associated with the elevator only. Problem #2 - The now "front door" for the home was wide open when we arrived and it was quickly discovered that the latch and lock for the door did not work well or easily. You had to lift the door latch or push down hard on the door latch in order to open or keep door shut depending on whichever direction you were going (in or out). The key took a lot of force to lock/unlock the door. Problem #3 - As we moved from problem 1 and 2, the 3rd issue we discovered pretty quickly was the dirty floors, dust and items left by previous guests. Sand and hair balls pushed into corners, dust lying in corners. The kicker was the two body sponges found still hanging in one of showers. Quality cleaning? Not by our standards. Problem #4 - Pillow cases missing on several beds and beds not made. The missing pillow cases were not to be found and top bunks were not made. Problem #5 - Top rack missing in the dishwasher […] it was also known to be missing and a part was on order. Another surprise? Yep. Now, we are unable to wash any glasses in the dishwasher, requiring all to be handwashed. Problem #6 - Knob missing for burner on the stove. We were a group of 10. Three children under the age of 8. We do not enjoy eating out. We have found, that it is so much easier, less time consuming and we are able to save money, by cooking at the rental house. Priorities in looking at vacation properties is a fully functional kitchen for us. This kitchen was lacking in several important areas. We are on vacation, who wants to have to wash dishes (glassware) by hand and run multiple loads through the dishwasher daily? […] […]

The fact that it is on the ocean is the best part...otherwise I would never stay here again. I'm from this area and I will not encourage anyone to stay in this particular house. It needs so much attention to make it comfortable...cleaning it would be a good start. It was filthy.

We loved this home for our week vacation! Being right on the beach was amazing and it was a really nice quiet neighborhood away from the bustle of town.

This house was wonderful! It accommodated our family of 5 very nicely - plenty of room and plenty of seats available at the kitchen bar, table and family room for movie nights. The kitchen was well stocked and the house was very clean. We loved the elevator for loading and offloading. We were very pleasantly surprised when we saw packaged towels for us, as well as toiletry items in the bathrooms, dishwashing soap, dishwasher and laundry detergent.

House is a great location - we were visiting my son at Camp Lejeune and this was very conveniently located and has a GORGEOUS view! Set up well with all the pota, pans, dishes and utensils you could need for large groups. We had an amazing trip!

This house is fabulous - lots of space, table that seats 10, plenty of dishes and silverware so no need to buy paper plates, private hot tub with a view. Right on the beach with an amazing view from the 3 decks. Puzzles and ice maker were icing on the cake. The customer service was fabulous also - very responsive. We had a great trip!
