Salt Marsh Market
Salt Marsh Market is part gourmet grocery, part neighborhood bar. You can shop take-and-bake dinners, craft beer and small-batch pantry goods while sipping something from one of eight rotating taps. Garrett and Brandy Shaver opened it in 2022 in Triton Village, on the mainland side of Surf City.
What stands out
Regulars love browsing here: an unusual, rotating range of local and small-business products, a big craft beer and wine selection, and owners and staff who know what they stock. The prepared meals and flatbreads come up again and again as an easy vacation dinner, and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free shoppers are especially well served. The prepared meals cost more than supermarket versions, and it isn’t a full grocery store. You won’t find a produce department or a fresh meat counter.
