Publix opened at the Arboretum at Surf City in May 2018. For many beach visitors it’s now the default big shop on the drive in, at the NC 210 and NC 50 crossroads a few minutes from the bridge.
What stands out
Spotless aisles and friendly staff are by far the most repeated praise, and many shoppers say service here is the best of the area’s supermarkets. The deli is the star. Subs are a beach-day tradition, and the tip from regulars is to order them online ahead of time so they’re waiting when you arrive. The bakery’s cakes also get regular praise.
