White Crab Coffee & Books

White Crab opened in fall 2025 in the south-end Topsail Beach building long home to Quarter Moon Books, and it keeps the bookshop spirit alive. The owner and her daughters bake everything in-house, which makes it an easy morning stop for a latte, a cookie and a beach read.

The setting

Bright and beachy inside, with a rebuilt front porch, a porch swing and Adirondack chairs, plus a couch by the front window and a children’s corner with a sandcastle mural. The shelves lean toward beach reads, North Carolina authors and kids’ books, with local gifts and cards alongside.

Before you go

• A morning and early-afternoon stop: it closes at 2pm and is closed Mondays.
• Dogs are welcome on the porch but must stay outside, because of the in-house baking.
• Public restrooms are two doors down at the town park; teachers get 20% off books.
