Topsail Beach Skating Rink
The Topsail Beach Skating Rink opened in May 1964 and still feels like a time capsule. There’s an original hardwood floor, a disco ball, rows of rental skates, and box fans standing in for air conditioning.
Why families go
Visitors call it a must-do night of their beach week. It’s a blast from the past for grandparents and a first time on skates for plenty of kids. It’s small, laid-back and inexpensive. For decades the same family ran the island post office downstairs by day and the rink by night. On July evenings it’s hot, so dress light.
