Jungle Rapids Family Fun Park

Jungle Rapids is Wilmington’s all-in-one family fun park, a local institution since the 1970s. It has a summer water park with a wave pool, lazy river and slides, plus go-karts, Jungle Golf, laser tag, a climbing wall and an arcade open year-round.

Why families go

Families like having everything in one place, so teens can race go-karts while little ones splash or play in the Kid’s Jungle. The water park is the summer headliner, and visitors say it’s worth the price. The mini golf course is landscaped with azaleas that bloom in spring. It isn’t cheap, and summer weekends are busy, but off-season weekdays are calm.

Before you go

  • The water park opens late May for the summer season; check the official calendar for open dates.
  • Go-kart drivers must be at least 12 and 56 inches tall; younger kids can ride as passengers with an adult.
  • Kids under 48 inches wear a free life jacket on the slides. The climbing wall needs closed-toe shoes.
