Coffee Joy is the north end’s own coffee shop, run by owners Trish and Walt inside the St. Regis Resort on North Topsail Beach. If you’re staying at that end of the island, it saves the drive off the island for a good latte.

What stands out

Recent visitors are remarkably consistent: the owners are behind the counter, the drinks are made with real care, and people who used to work as baristas rate the cold brew and lattes highly. The setting

A small, warm shop within the resort complex. Recent visitors say it has moved to Building 1: go up the stairs at that building’s main entrance, stay outside, and follow the walkway to the left, where signs point the way.
