Tuck’s Water Shuttle
Lea-Hutaff Island is one of North Carolina’s last undeveloped barrier islands, and you can only reach it by boat. Tuck’s Water Shuttle runs families across from the sound side of Topsail Beach for a day of shelling, with no buildings in sight.
Why families go
It’s a simple, local service with strong reviews: drop-off on a wild island, then pick-up at an agreed time. The island has no facilities, shade or water, so it’s an adventure for prepared families. The shuttle leaves a block from the Missiles and More Museum, so the two make an easy south-end day.
